- Design, develop, and refine advanced prompting techniques to enhance the performance and accuracy of large language models in linguistic AI tasks.
- Develop and implement AI output evaluation techniques to assess the quality, relevance, and accuracy of AI-generated output across various linguistic tasks.
- Analyze AI outputs to identify patterns and areas for improvement in both the prompts and the primary data.
- Collaborate with target language specialists to incorporate linguistic expertise into prompt engineering, ensuring that language-specific requirements and idiosyncrasies are captured.
- Work closely with the LAIS Research and Development team to align prompt engineering efforts with the latest AI methodologies and available tools.
- Conduct experiments and analyze results to continuously improve prompt effectiveness and efficiency across various linguistic tasks.
- Maintain a library of optimized prompts for different use cases, languages, and industries.
- Create and implement best practices and guidelines for prompt engineering within the LAIS team.
- Participate in client meetings when needed to understand specific requirements and tailor prompting strategies accordingly.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in prompt engineering and large language models, and apply this knowledge to improve RWS's Linguistic AI Services.
- Contribute to the documentation and training materials related to prompt engineering for internal teams and clients.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, AI, or a related field.
- Proven experience in prompt engineering for large language models, preferably in linguistic applications.
- Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning concepts.
- Experience with popular AI frameworks and platforms (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Llama, Claude, etc.).
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in AI/ML, such as Python.
- Proficiency with linguistic concepts and categories.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize prompts based on performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in collaborative environments, working with cross-functional teams.
- Creativity and innovation in approaching prompt engineering challenges.
- Experience working with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and web-based collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the localization industry and language technologies is a plus.
